Cute + Modest Summery Outfit Ideas

If you’re like me, when spring and summer come around, you love shedding the heaviness of coats, jackets, and way too many layers. The freedom of running barefoot, in shorts and a t-shirt after a cold and dreary winter, puts a bit of sunshine in your heart.

For me, the thing I’ve always had a hard time with is looking nice and feeling comfortable while also dressing modestly. This doesn’t come from a desire to draw attention to myself, but rather from the fact that most of the clothes designed for young women simply aren’t modest. It hard nowadays to find clothes that fit well, feel comfortable, look nice, and are God-honoring.

I hope that this post gives you some cute, feminine, and modest outfit ideas to try out this summer!

(Most of the pictures are from Pinterest, and if you’d like to check out my whole board, “Style,” you can find it here! I’m regularly adding to it.)

Skirts & dresses

I would wear a tank-top under the shirt since it’s low cut and a little short, but I love the color combo and style! Blue and green rarely go well together, but when they do, it’s, like, the coolest thing ever 😂

Is this not just adorable? 😍 It has a nice, homey, country look.

I think that this skirt could be used year round, and the length, style, and color are super cute!

I love wearing tank-tops since they feel so “free,” and the colors here are just so summery!

This outfit is so pretty! It could pass for a dressy occasion, or just a cute & casual style.

The loose style of this dress is really modest, yet really beautiful & summery.

T-shirts

This is such a cheerful & pretty shirt!

I think that floral shirts are so feminine and beautiful!

This one is dressy in a casual sort of way—totally up my alley!

The shirt here is a beautiful blend of modern, casual, & feminine.

Shoes

These embroidered Converse sneakers are GORGEOUS and if I had my own pair I think I’d wear them around the house 24/7 😂 Actually, they can be purchased here on Etsy, but they’re pricey.

These light, cheery vans are both pretty & casual!

These sandals are super cute and dressy! 😍

Headcoverings/headscarves

I’ve been headcovering for several years at this point (you can read my story here!), but I’ve discovered that it can actually look pretty and not “weird” like a lot of people think it does. Whether or not you wear headcovers, headscarves are really pretty and a practical way to keep hair out of your face, especially in hot weather!

I love the pattern of this specific scarf, and the way it so easily wraps around her bun and hangs down her back!

This brand is Natural Life, and I’ve gotten some of my favorite headcovers from them! It can scrunched up thinly (like on the left) or stretched down to full length, which covers the whole head (me, on the right). The link to that specific headband is here. (That’s a picture of me, trying to learn how to read Arabic while wearing a shirt with Hebrew writing on it. My love for languages really shows here 😂)

Bandanas are my favorite to wear since they can be both dressy & casual and are super comfy!

This gorgeous headcover is from Garlands of Grace. They only restock their inventory seasonally, but they just released some more, so go check them out if you’re interested! They’re really pretty & durable!

This is also a Garlands of Grace headcover, and it’s in stock at the moment. You can find it here.

This is a screenshot I took from a video, haha, but I think you can get the point! It’s a big bandana that goes over the head, then instead of tying at the base of the neck, it ties around the hair. I think it’s super cute!

What do you think?

Obviously there are so many more outfit ideas out there, but I can’t cram them all into one blog post. Let me know in the comments if you’d like a part 2 of Modest Summery Outfit Ideas! 💖
