Interview with Noelle Flater

Hello! Today I’m interviewing Noelle Flater from My Voice In Our World. A few weeks back, she interviewed me, and you can find that post here.

  1. When did you start writing? I started writing the summer after 3rd grade. My first story was co-authored with a friend and it was called the twin keys.
  2. Why did you decide to take writing seriously? Writing has become an outlet for my emotions. I’m not always the most open person, and writing has helped me sort out some of my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I hope my writing will inspire other girls to pursue their dreams, and don’t be afraid of failing because that is a part of life.
  3. What main message do you hope to get across to your readers? My main message with any writing is the love and goodness of God. I didn’t always believe that God was faithful and truly wanted what was best for me. It took a lot of growing and learning to reach where I am today, and I want to help others along their path to God.
  4. Do you write more fiction or non-fiction? I would say it’s about 50- 50. I write fiction novels and short stories, but my blog is non-fiction, and I really enjoy writing the posts!
  5. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? In my spare time, which I don’t have much of, I’m a Civil Air Patrol cadet.I also sing, enjoy doing makeup and skincare, brush letter, and crochet. I love reading and playing volleyball with my friends. Most of all I love listening to music and doing whatever I feel like doing at that time!
  6. What is one thing you want to do by this time next year? There are so many goals I have for this year, like finishing 10th and most of 11th grade, getting a job, and promoting at Civil Air Patrol. But more than anything else is I want my writing to reach more people and make a difference in their lives for the glory of God!
  7. What is one piece of encouragement you would like to give to a young woman who is following Jesus? Trust him! He’s got you in the palm of his hand, and he’s not going to let you go. Life is hard, and there is nothing we can do to change that. There will always be boy drama, or wondering if you’re pretty enough, but in the long run none of that matters. God doesn’t care if you have a boyfriend, or if you’re not wearing makeup, because he loves you just the way you are. He wants to work in your life and use you for his glory, you just need to let him.
