Interview With Laura Boone

Some of you may be familiar with Laura, since we guest posted for each other several weeks ago. You can find her post for my blog on productivity here, and my post on her blog about the love of God here. She also interviewed me on her blog a couple weeks ago, and that post is here.

Well, let’s dive into this interview, shall we?

  1. What type of content do you post on your blog?

I write blog posts about Jesus, writing, and life. My goal is to encourage and inspire young women to seek a deep relationship with God and to live fearlessly. I love talking about the love of God, productivity, and the beauty of life.

  1. When did you start writing?

I started writing when I was little. I remember writing a few short stories, but I didn’t start writing seriously until about a year ago, when I got an idea for a western historical fiction story that I totally fell in love with.

  1. Why did you decide to take writing seriously?

I started writing seriously because I had a story that I loved that I really wanted to write and because I had the accountability of a friend (Leah is the BEST friend XD) to keep me going.

Since then, I have continued to take writing seriously because I love the craft and I feel like God has given me a mission and a message to share through my writing.

I have been encouraged, inspired, and helped in so many ways through other people’s writing and I want to do the same for others.

  1. What main message do you hope to get across to your readers?

The truth of God’s love for them. The love that never leaves (Romans 8:39), never changes (Hebrews 13:8), and never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). The love that casts out fear (1 John 4:18), saves sinners (John 3:16), and binds up broken hearts (Psalm 147:3).

God says that love is the most important thing to focus on (1 Corinthians 13:13). It’s the foundation of the entire law (Matthew 22:38-40)! My mission is to encourage young women to seek God’s love and then share it with everyone around them, including themselves.

  1. Do you write more fiction or nonfiction?

It’s hard to say! Right now, I am focusing on non-fiction more because I just finished a novella and I want to give the fiction part of my brain a rest. But when I’m writing a story, I tend to focus more on fiction.

I love both and I love sharing my heart and message in both.

  1. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

Read a really good book. Usually for me that’s a mystery story. But not just any mystery. It needs to be really deep, clean and not gruesome or super dark, and also have some heart and internal conflict.

If I don’t have access to a book like that, I like to watch my favorite youtube channels, play my guitar, and listen to music. Although, I usually listen to music while I’m doing something else. 🙂

  1. What is one piece of encouragement you would give to a young woman who is following Jesus?

Seek a deep relationship with your heavenly Father. Really deep. Talk to him, collapse into his arms, revel in his love.

This is the single most important thing you can do in your life. The rewards are more wonderful than you can imagine. The peace, comfort, and joy is something that I can guarantee you need right now.

There will be times when it seems like nothing is happening. Just keep resting in his love. Keep seeking his heart. You will find it (Jeremiah 29:13). You will find the happiness, the peace, the joy you’ve been seeking. It’s all right there, in a relationship with your creator (Psalm 16:11).

All you have to do is put in the time and the effort to seek it. And for those of us who love to be productive, seeking a relationship with God is the most productive thing you will ever do.

Leah, thank you so much for having me on your blog! I love what you share and I’m so glad I could be a part of it. Sending love and hugs.

You’re so welcome, Laura! I’m very glad we got to coordinate this < 3
